Dr. Jon Lucas
"Experience orthodontics with a personal touch."

A bio with a twist…credentials of course, but more personal information for a “personal touch”. My wife’s name is Anne. We have three children: Olivia (born 2007), Jonathan (born 2009), and Katherine (born 2011).

I attended the University of Mississippi and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in biological sciences and a minor in Chemistry. I attended the University of Tennessee-Memphis for Dental School where I graduated in the top 10% of my class. To round out my SEC schools, I attended my orthodontic residency at the Vanderbilt Orthodontic Center where I served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthodontics.

I initially opened my orthodontic office in Cool Springs in October of 2001. I currently practice in Brentwood, off Moores Lane, and in Belle Meade across from Kroger. Our practices have the distinction of being on the top list of Invisalign® providers in Tennessee.

“I always like to add a ‘personal touch’ when caring for our patients.”

I am a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Tennessee Association of Orthodontics, The Southern Association of Orthodontics, Tennessee Dental Association, American Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, Millennium Study Club, and recently lead a Spear Study Club. Additionally, I serve on the board of Daystar.

On a less serious note, but more personal note: Other things I love and enjoy: my wife, my kids, my mother and father, my job, my staff, running, marathons (most notable: Boston Marathon), biking, triathlons (Notice I did not include swimming…trying to learn to love it!), seeing old friends, making new friends, Ole Miss, the Grove, my in-laws (seriously), brother and his spouse, sister and her family, my God, our church, sweet tea, chocolate chip cookies, fruit, steak (med. rare to rare), fried chicken (although I don’t eat much), the beach, seafood gumbo, a little singing in the office, dancing (and trust me, UNINHIBITED!), Newton, Mississippi (hometown), Neshoba County Fair (look it up), my fair cousins (Stubbs & Tannehills), football, baseball, basketball, Predators, Titans, all genres of music (of course country!), Lightning 100, Nashville, TN, Alpine Camp for Boys, mowing my grass, Ponte Vedra, holidays, Chicago Cubs, the thought of running an ironman (3 young kids…that’ll have to wait), pound cake slightly under cooked, taking trips with my family, taking trips alone with Anne (my wife), laughing a lot, out loud and often…”The practice of orthodontics”, the art of creating beautiful smiles and the many wonderful relationships I am able to develop with the patients and families I treat.

Dr. Alexander Blaseio
"You can call me Dr. B."

My name is Dr. Blaseio (rhymes with Ohio) but most call me Dr. B. Originally, from Southern California, I have lived as far away as Germany. I was born just after my parents graduated from their orthodontics program at Loma Linda University (you could say I started my training early). My family moved to Germany just a few weeks after my birth so my parents could start a practice there. My father’s growing software business brought us back to California six years later.

Even after returning to California, my family moved to Florida and Germany (again) for brief periods. All this traveling as a kid made me nearly trilingual and gave me a great appreciation for new foods and cultures.

For college, I attended UCLA and majored in Neuroscience. I was a very busy student and spent lots of time rowing for the UCLA crew, tutoring younger peers, and working in a lab. Toward the end of college, I decided to follow in my parents’ footsteps largely because I had met so many happy dentists and orthodontists. I attended Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, and it was there that I met my wife, Poppy.

Both Poppy and I pursued additional training after becoming dentists. I completed my orthodontic residency at the Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, and Poppy finished her endodontics residency at the Long Beach, VA.

In my spare time, Poppy and I love cooking and grilling together, hiking with our dog, Levi, and traveling. Some of our favorite local weekend activities include attending concerts, watching sports games (Go Preds, Titans, and Sounds!), and exploring the Nashville restaurant scene.

Dr. Jillian Nyquist
"Giving you a smile you can be proud of."

I am originally from Paducah, KY, also proudly known as the quilt capital of the world for you quilters out there. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky where I stayed to earn my dental degree at the UK College of Dentistry. After dental school, I completed my post-graduate orthodontic training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an Andrew McArthur Brooks Fellow where I received my certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s of Science degree. I bleed UK Blue with a hint of Tar Heel Blue. March Madness is my favorite time of year!

After graduation, I voluntarily completed the American Board of Orthodontics certification process to become a board-certified orthodontist, a distinction attained by only 30% of orthodontists nationwide.

“I am so grateful I was lead to choose orthodontics as my career. My favorite parts of being an orthodontist are unveiling new, beautiful smiles, building long-lasting relationships with my patients, and giving my patients a smile they can truly be proud of. I am honored and excited to be a part of the team at Lucas Orthodontic Group and hope I get to meet you soon!”

I joined Lucas Orthodontic Group in April of 2017 and aspire to continue the tradition of excellence in service to patients and exceptional orthodontic care. I am a lifelong learner and regularly participates in continuing education to stay informed about the latest advances in orthodontics and dentistry.

I am also a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists.

My husband, James, and I have a son, Brooks, and baby daughter, Marcie. We are thrilled to have moved to Nolensville and look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community. Outside of the office, I primarily enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. My family enjoy traveling, spending time at Kentucky Lake and Smith Lake during the summer, hiking, and cheering for the UK Wildcats!

Dr. Samuel Collins
"I love connecting with my patients."

I am from the small town of Norris, Tennessee. While growing up in East Tennessee, I spent part of my time being raised on my dad’s Christmas tree farm and the rest with my mom and step-dad on Norris Lake. Having siblings ranging from 19 to 48-years-old ensured there was never a dull moment in my house!

After leaving my hometown, I attended Belmont University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. While at Belmont, I was a personal trainer, tutored student-athletes, and played almost every intramural sport available. It was during my time at Belmont that I decided to pursue a career in dentistry, which led me to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I received my DMD.

Throughout my four years at UAB, I developed a passion for orthodontics, specifically the patient connections and gratifications that come with the field. My interest in orthodontics continued to grow and eventually brought me to the Medical University of South Carolina where I completed a three-year orthodontics residency.

In my free time, I love staying active and am a huge fan of most sports including basketball (pro and college), football (Go Dores and Titans!), golf, tennis, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and running (well, I’m trying to learn to like this one).

In addition to sports, I am a big fan of live music so love being back in Music City! Last but certainly not least, coming from a large family, I obviously love spending time with them and my friends!
